What type of cement do you use to reface a chimney?

It has been refaced 3 times in the past 10 years. The last time was only 2 years ago, and it is falling apart.

If you are looking for a smooth look, you might try premade cement panels. If you don't need it to look smooth, you can use brick or stone-looking panels. All panels can be attached with liquid nail, so will need a secure base (if the cement under the liquid nail falls off the panel will not be secure in that area).

I don’t know if you have a brick chimney or not, but the attached article may help anyway. Please pay special note to the section under stucco, prep work. I can’t help but wonder if your contractors didn’t skip a step or two.

I don’t care if you’re baking a cake or facing a chimney. Prep work is the most important part.

Go to Thumbtack.com and homeadvisor.com and get yourself multiple estimates, with specific details about their process. They vet their pros.

You could also have vinyl siding installed around it then you'll never have to worry about maintenance.
