Depends a lot on whether it is indoors or out. Indoors you can use painter's tape to lay out the "mortar joints" on a gray painted wall then brush red paint to create the bricks. There is paneling available in 4x8 sheets. A number of companies make smaller panels that go up with adhesive. You could also cut short pieces of wood lath, paint them brick color then align and glue them onto a mortar-colored wall. It's all about fooling the eye.
For exterior you will need something that will hold up to the weather and that gets more expensive. Thin brick veneer, sometimes called Zee Brick, can be installed on the exterior. There are also interlocking plastic panels made to withstand the elements that are applied with nails and/or adhesive.
Either wallpaper or, literally, fake brick which often comes on sheets. Glues on to the wall.
Check HD or Lowes, and certainly on line. Faux Brick, interior
Inside or outside.... I just saw one of the DIY network shows (Flip or Flop Las Vegas) use a "faux brick" paneling as a feature wall in a bedroom... after the red brick panel was installed... they white washed it... and it turned out very well.
In most any wall-coverings dept. you will find paneling and other materials. You should find one or more styles of fake bricks, some with deep grout. You can paint the bricks, grout, or both, but you might find just what you want if you check a couple of places. The faux brick sheets can be stapled, nailed, glued, reinforced with lathing, all dependent on the surface you already have or you create. Good choice for a temporary or inexpensive wall covering. โบ๏ธ
