I bought a tomato plant from Publix and attempted to grow it in my Florida Room but that didn't work. So I planted it in my backyard, but thinking back I should have planted it in a large container to keep the bugs from eating the leaves & tomatoes. Rick Allen

  • In ground works best for me. One of my neighbors does the hanging bags upside down and they do reasonably well. Just depends on your situation and preference.

I've heard that a lot of people have great luck with topsy turvy planters - they take up less room plus you don't have to stake plants. Can get very heavy though so be sure you secure them to sturdy base.

I have been gardening for many years now. I have tried growing tomatoes upside down, in containers and in the ground. My favorite, by far, is growing them in the ground. I have had much better harvests from growing them in the ground. Best of luck to you.
