I had a cardinal acting like a woodpecker and ruining my deck by pecking on it. . I hung small disposable tart pans from fishing line in the areas he was attacking. The tart pans would move with the breeze so eventually he stopped. This took awhile of repositioning the pans to find the spot that annoyed him enough to leave. Good luck
