Try dryer balls. I thought it was crazy, but I am soooo much happier with my towels now. They're fluffy, soft, and more absorbent than using dryer sheets.
I use Vinegar and baking soda in a hot wash for my towels. I have 5 smelly boys (and that's not including my husband) I used to use fabric softener on them but learned the hard way how gross it can make them. Throw a ball of aluminum foil in the dryer too, it cuts down on static
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...

Hair conditioner on two white tennis balls Should fluff towels and sheets. ☺️
They're in grocery stores and Walmart, bed bath and beyond, even eBay. My daughter told me about them.
