Heavily embroidered but yellowed satin blouse

Hello! I have this beautiful blouse - but it's yellowed. My concern is if I try to oxiclean it etc the embroidery floss will bleed - but if I soak it in vinegar it will set the yellowing as well. TIA!

Try soaking it 4-24 hours in water mixed with baking soda. This will not harm the fabric. Have you looked for a tag that states precisely what the fabric is?

there are other sites, but I liked this one

  • I like lemon juice + peroxide for items I can't bleach. You can turn the shirt insideout and see if there is a tiny piece of embroidery floss you can snip off with the scissors safely. Put the piece in a tiny white dish or line the dish with a white washcloth. Put in diluted oxiclean and let it sit. The white background should help you see if your embroidery floss will bleed

Ask at the dry cleaners if they can help - otherwise wash in Bio-powder..........

Hand wash the blouse in water and a few drops of Dawn or Woolite. Rinse in cold water, and hang up to dry. Try to aim a fan at the blouse as it dries, fluffing the body and sleeves as they loosen. When the blouse is dry, you will see if you think the blouse is still attractive and wearable. ☺️
