Attracting purple martins- Any advice how I can attract them?

I put up a purple martin house, complete with decoys. I have seen them darting about, but they have not checked out the new house. Any advice how I can attract them?

Maybe they are House Hunting,and just checking out whats available and where the best area is for their needs? Check it out in a bird book or on line......
If you think the placement of the Martin House is correct, and the proper nesting materials are nearby, I have an indelicate proposal. Watch carefully, then collect some Martin feces. Spread a little along the pegs and on the openings to the rooms. I hope this helps. ☺️
