Can the bricks around our living room pre-fab fireplace be painted? If so, what kind of paint should I use?

Yes they can. Pintrest has tons of fireplace make overs. Also there is a kit you can buy but I think that is an unnecessary expense.
Hello Pat you certainly can! Look for Masonry paint at the local hardware store. It can be brushed or rolled on. I used a small roller for the main portion then the brush, dabbing in the nooks and crannies. Good luck! Post the before and after pictures for us.
I just thinned out some white paint. Probably half and half. Used a paint brush. Several coats. I love it!
