Any ideas what I could create out of this?

This is suppose an old chicken coop. Been sitting on my porch for years. Really like it but dont know what to do with it. Thought about a coffee table, but my family room is just too small...

Thanks, I will give it some thought. It is only 12" deep...

I was thinking it would be a great piece for hanging storage. Place it up high enough to be out of the way, but low enough to be usable. Maybe cut the slats down a bit to add more visible space, and give it a nice white wash.

Put it on your porch or patio. You could make a table out of it as you mentioned...you could put some plants in it...maybe some sort of cabinet...Someone will come up with a fab idea.

Make a coffee table for your porch. Put short legs in each corner on the bottom with the plywood, put a piece of tempered glass on the top, fill it with things that interest you. Examples: small pieces of drift wood, seashells, succulents pretty rocks or even a ceramic chicken sitting on a straw nest. You can usually find used glass table tops at flea markets or thrift stores.

I was also going to suggest a coffee table for the porch. Check the chicken coop in this porch decorating post (about halfway down): http://theletteredcottage.net/porch-ideas/ This girl is sooooo unbelievably creative. She's definitely one of my favorite decorating bloggers!

@Ronnie Thank you, Ronnie.I've seen lots of ideas for pallets on the web, especially on this site, but have never found any pallets that I could have for free.

Well my kids are 27 & 20, no grandkids ....yet. Pic must be decieving.. There is no way for a person to fit inside.... Well unless it is a child and they lay flat....Hee hee. Good Luck with you endeavor for a "fort".

@Lisa I guess since I have 'fort' on my mind, I wasn't thinking about the size of your crate.

What about a potting Table, you could add shelves where the door is and put your pots on it and add a board on top for your work table.

An outdoor food prep station, a bar, a toy closet, a potting station, etc. put a piece of wood sheeting as the back. Add shelves if needed by using the slats as runners for the shelf. Paint or stain. Add a solid top. Could always add a piece of wood and then add stones or tile or anything mosaic.

First thing that comes to mind is a Bar. I would put shelves in the inside and add a top, turn it around and enjoy. If you are a non- drinker of alcohol you can always use it for all types of drinks.

Maybe you can use it as a sofa table (behind the sofa) or a console table. Either way it's great for storage and putting decorative things on top.
