You need to put an ant poison arround the base of your house, exterior walls. You can purchase them at big box diy, or make one using equal parts granulated sugar and borax. After a rain, you will need to reapply the treatment unless it’s a rain proof application.

You can try cucumber peel. They hate it. My mom used to put it in the lower cupboards.

Sprinkle cinnamon around the places you see the ants. It looks pretty messy, but after a couple of days the ants will stay away and you can wipe away the cinnamon. I’ve done this for years and it’s always worked for me. Good luck!

Diatomaceous Earth sprinkled outside the perimeter of your home and also inside the perimeter. The powder gets into their joints and cuts them up and dries out the insides and kills them. The powder needs to be dry so don't do this if it's going to rain. It won't harm pets!

I use dried Bay Leaves on my counters and in cupboards, they don't like the smell

Yeah, they are driving me nuts too. Keep the kitchen and bathroom clean of food & crumbs and keep those areas dry of water. I spray the outside bottom exterior around my house once every two months and add a thin layer of strong coffee grounds (the kind you brew with, 'not ' instant coffee) next to the bottom exterior around the house once every month and a half, during rainy season. I let a ceiling fan run in my kitchen during the day to make sure water dries up fast when using my kitchen sink.
