Other than removing it, you could try cleaning it up! You can get stove black at a hardware store. Depending on how bad it is, you might need some fine steel wool for rusty spots.

I would make the wall behind it a feature wall by adding some ship lap. I would also have two matching chairs and turn them towards the wood stove.

There are several companies that offer paint for wood burning stoves.

Read the label carefully before buying to insure that it will work on your stove.

Theres even a beige if you’d like it to blend into your room better.

The other alternative is to paint the wall behind the stove a strong color, perhaps one of the tones in your floor. This alternative is a lot easier and would look great, truly an accent wall.

Do you want me to be honest...I would remove it. We just bought a house and it has a soapstone wood stove and I told my husband it will be the first project on the list to get it out of the house and put a fireplace in.

It’s beautifu! Just needs some TLC! Make it be an accent piece. Paint it a beautiful color that stands out. They have beautiful nuetral warm or cool grays and Spanish Lace is always a winner.

If you’re using stove- Make sure you buy a paint that tolerases high heat.

You could paint it the same color as the wall so it blends in and isn't the focal point of the room

I agree with you, I don't like them either, I love the suggestion to paint the same color as the wall to blend if you cant remove, you could also use candles and or plants instead of logs in the stove and around the tile it sits on to alter the look. Good luck.

I would repaint it and paint the wall behind it in a bold color and as another suggested have some chairs facing it. We don't have a fireplace and are thinking of putting a wood-burning stove in. I think it's beautiful!

Let's start with what we see under the wood burning stove. Remove the beige floor tiles and replace the with colorful patterned or mosaic floor tiles.

    Here are some examples:

    Patterns from Google search engine.

    Just a little tip:

The room can use some more color and this can be done by adding red or blue to your color scheme, and this includes the painting on the wall. I also would like to suggest adding a pillow in bluish green or reddish orange.
