take your paint chip with you to see what will look best. Not everyone has the same taste

Look at some paint swatches in paint departments, look with the powder blue one in your hand at what strikes you as a good accent color. Take a few choices home and set them in places like on your sink, towel bar, etc. Look for the one that catches your eye as the best.

  • Neutral, beige or taupe

It depends on the look you want. For a spa look, go with wood accents and white towels, rugs, etc. For a happy, vibrant look use peachy or yellow accents along with some greenery. If your tub/shower needs a shower curtain, find one you love and then pull your accent colors out of that.

Boy you are going to get a lot of suggestions, so let me ask you stuff. Why blue,is it because you like cool tones? If so grey would be very calm and pretty plus modern. If you love blue but like warm tones because you live in cold climate, yes stick to warm neutrals as stated above. If your style is bold pick another shade of blue that is deep and rich. If you like preppy stuff then a bright green or yellow. Please blend some white be it finger towels or in strips on towels if you go preppy. So point is what do you like in your life what's your style in clothing in general that's a great place to start. The hardest part you did which is wall color which I applaud. The accessories will be fun to do,maybe look for your soap dispenser stuff and see if that helps. What color metal are your fixtures, cause that says a lot. You don't want blue grey and then shiny gold. Sorry for those that have that but that isn't retro that's just wrong. Then if gold go warm tones if silver cool tones if that deep brass almost black but still brown go either way.

Am I glad you replied I had another idea and was planning on searching for you,how about chocolate brown? Very sophisticated those two colors. I don't believe in following rules. They are just suggestions that in some cases work but not in all. I say it's your house do what makes you happy, either you are paying the mortgage or you have already worked hard to pay it off so enjoy it in your style. If you walk in every time and sigh out of pleasure then you have done an excellent job. If you go in and don't bother to take it in then something is missing. You like warm colors well chocolate brownis warm. So you blend cool with warm in a dramatic way. Deep beige also works very nice but not pale beige. Stay away from boring accessories or it will be like walking in to a nursery. Pick the palest blue you can find and I would say to entertain the trim being white to tie in with fixtures. I love blue but not in bathrooms because it's to predictable. But that's just me. And for size, I had a powder room in a deep brown. It was warm and allowed me to change out towels as I wanted to add color cause it was so small I couldn't even hang a shelf for accessories. I had brushed nickel fixtures. So it did work. Have fun but stick to what you like not by some rule that sure in some instances works but this is a space that you can make a statement in since you don't spend too much time in so go for what makes you happy. Life is short and rules are meant to be broken in some cases.
