How to get rid of rust on my garden seat its wrought iron

Scrub with an SOS pad, rinse and dry well. Seal or paint and seal to avoid the recurrence of rust.

Vinegar and baking soda and a stiff brush to remove the rust.... Naval Jelly eats the rust and leaves the good metal..... after you get all the rust off... Prime with Rustoleum Rusty metal primer.... and paint (several light-ish coats)... you can also use a clear sealer over it all... follow the directions for all of the paints.

Ny Mother always used Crisco to "prepare": a cast iron skillet, but the one time I tried I ended up with hard Crico baked on the skillet.

You can also use a fine grade of sandpaper or even the tip for cast iron pans which is to use 1/2 a lemon sprinkled with salt. Wishing you the best.

There is a product you can buy on amazon called "magica" it is oxycilic acid which is the only thing that removes rust. If you look on the label on products in the grocery store, you will see that usually oxycilic acid is in there but is only a part of the ingredients. I have used Magica on sinks, counter tops, toilets and a zillion other things. If oxycilic acid doesnt remove it, it is NOT rust.

Scrub the seat all over with vinegar and salt. Rinse it, and dry quickly and thoroughly. Spray or brush paint the seat, including underteseat andtearms and the feet. Use Rustoleum or Kilz as the primer, and it may take two coats to cover all the previously rusty parts. Then paint it whatever colors you like with waterproof paint (like deck paint), even if these were your primer colors or not. Unless the paint is “self sealing”, seal the seat with polyurethane, maybe two coats. I hope this helps! ☺️

I have a iron table and I sanded it down real good and went to wall mart and got the color I needed with prim and sprayed it. Looks great
