Kitchen window- Any suggestions?

You can get film at home improvement stores that you cover the window with that will keep the heat out quite a bit but still allow the sunlight in. We did this when we lived in an apartment. It costs about 30 dollars a roll but saves a fortune on cooling bills.

Put 3M film on it. You can see out but others can’t see in doing the day time. Will filter most of the UV Rays

We also used film that is designed to keep the sun from glaring through the window in several windows in our home. If you look at the windows, you wouldn't even know that it's there. Be sure to get the right kind of film though. Not the decorative kind, but anti-glare (I think that's what it's called) We got ours at Lowes, but it's also carried on Amazon if you can't find it locally. Wishing you the best.

You could tape off/block off a circle, square or diamond shape in the middle of the window - whatever size you prefer. Then spray paint around it using spray paint for glass. Then, of course, remove the taped-off area once the paint is dry. Be sure to follow directions for how to prep the window before you paint.

I too have a window like this. Mine is a double hung and right over my kitchen sink. By dinner time it was blinding me. I made a stained glass for the top (colors that went with my kitchen) you can also use the stick on stuff. For the bottom I used a long valance so that if I wanted to see outside for some reason I could just lift it and peek out. Works like a charm.

Paint a Gallery Glass design. Be sure to use UV sealant. Easily removable

a tension bar put across the opening will hold a simple curtain. Use light, mesh fabric to be able to see out or a thicker material for total blocking.
