Was looking for a new silk arrangement for my bedroom, because I do not have a green thumb. I found the perfect arrangement in a gift shop in Naples Florida. $275.00. Whoa. But I loved it.

Original from the gift shop
Found a pot that was similar in size and color. $30 in a garden shop. Similar ones can be found on Amazon. But I was in a hurry.
Added a plastic liner with holes for drainage
Pot didn’t have drainage holes
Added some real plants into plastic liner. $6
Placed plants into pot
Added some silk orchids. $30.
Finished planter.
Is it as nice as the original? Absolutely not. But was only $66.00. And I like that the greenery is real and will grow in and become more lush.
Looks pretty in my room.
Also added orchids to my Prothos planter in kitchen. This one really fakes people out because it looks so real. Because the greenery is real.
Just another example. Is it real?

Hi Debbie. I love your final results. I have been doing this for years because I have a brown thumb. Can’t keep anything alive! Lol! I even put the faux flowers in my yard. I fooled the gardener once. I put flowers in the bushes by the front porch and he knocked on the door and wanted to know where I got the beautiful flowers? He was shocked when I pulled one out and showed him it was fake!

Beautiful. I think it looks perfect especially with the living plants.

I can never keep an orchid alive. The blooms last quite awhile, I will say that, but the actual plant never blooms again and just dies. So I think the idea of adding live greenery which is much easier to keep alive is great!
