My kitchen sink is white and became old and rusted with stains, no matter how much I scrubbed and bleached it! I was still a little embarrassed when guest came over and offered to help clean up, I would try to deter them because of my shameful kitchen sink.
As you can see my sink was clearly stained, I wanted to do something that was less than purchasing a new sink so I looked on line and found I could replenish my sink for less than buying anew one.
I had to purchase the kit from Home depot or Lowes. The Magic kit doesn't come with the TSP it just comes with the two cans of porcelain spray. Homax is another brand it has the complete kit. oh don't forget the Mask" safety first" a well ventilated is needed!!!
I followed the directions, cleaned the sink with soap then sanded it down with sand paper followed it up with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to remove dust and debris. applied the TSP according to the directions on the bottle, it is an strong cleaner -use gloves . .
next step tape up your entire sink, and any area you don't want to get over sprayed.
I went ahead and used some old paper to cover areas I didn't want to get any paint on.
I used old grocery bags to cover my fixtures, cover the drain too...if you can take them off , that maybe even better.
so the entire sink is cover and oh by the way! you can not use your sink for 2-3 days icon wash all you dishes, don't run the dish washer. I used my bathroom sink for coffee water. Reach under the sink and turn off the water to be safe.
the first coat pretty strong spraying it on get the "mask"
This is the master piece - one more step You have to remove the caulk and then replace it.
This is it, no more ugly sink everyone is welcome in the kitchen for clean up at my next gatheringicon

Soft scrub with bleach works very well with these sinks---- apply it and leave it like a layer over complete sink- leave on for several hours or overnight- scrub and rinse off--- works pretty well

When my son and daughter-in-law moved into their house - the previous owners had painted the sink and the bathtub - the paint soon came off in large pieces and it was a mess getting that paint off...you can clean those sinks to look like brand new with magic erasers and Barkeepers friend. Takes a little bit of elbow grease but once it is clean - a quick re-do once a week keeps it looking new!

We did this with an octagonal bathroom sink. Several coats. You can’t use anything harsh to clean it, just a spray cleaner. It is in the guest room, so it doesn’t get hard use. I don’t think it would hold up well for long in a kitchen sink.
