A product made for dishwashers called affresh can help with odor and mineral deposits. Coincidentally my HE washing machine needs a similar product ( for washing machines) for routine maintence.

Place a glass measuring cup full of white vinegar on top shelf in dishwasher run a regular cycle with only thing in dishwasher the cup of vinegar - no dishes. This should clean out machine. :)
we use white vinegar with some baking soda sprinkled in the bottom of the DW then run on a hot scrubbing cycle (no dishes in there!) Mine is due for a replacement at 10 years old.
It is good to run the dishwasher empty occasionally to remove odors and remove any scum that may build up. Put a small amount of baking soda in the soap dispenser and a cup of vinegar in the bottom before starting the cycle.
My dishwasher is not cleaning the tea or coffee cups. I have tried different types of pods by Cascade. I also use Finish liquid. Please let me know how to get coffee ...

I run a small bowl with about a cup of vinegar thru the dishwasher every few months.
