    Hi Penny,

The best way is to use warm water and dishwashing detergent (like Dawn). Even though I use this, I looked online to see if there was something better. I actually found a website that tells you what NOT to use with your jewelry and also suggests the same solution that I use as the best. You can read about that here, if you choose. Wishing you the best.

Never use cleaners on soft stones like pearls, opals, turquoise, etc. Use warm water and a soft cloth. For tarnished silver jewelry, plain old fashioned toothpaste with no get or additives and a tooth brush will work really well and rinse off with warm water. For the rest, I use hot water and dawn and a toothbrush and they sparkle once rinsed and dried.

I sell a lot of jewelry on Ebay. Silver, gold, with and without stones. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, brass, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything.
