Buy a pump-up garden sprayer, a 4 inch putty knife & some cheap disposable drop clothes. Fill the sprayer with water, spray a 3 foot square section at a time, let it set a few minutes, then start scraping. You might need to do a few touch-ups with some drywall mud, but mine turned out great! Mine had never been painted, it went quicker than expected, but it's messy. Good luck & "happy scraping".

Hi Dona, Start by emptying the room. Then lay down drop cloths, old sheets, or whatever you have on hand. Use a spritzer bottle to moisten a small section of the ceiling. Wait a few minutes then start scraping. I read a post where someone used a garden hoe to scrape their popcorn ceiling. Try to work on one small section at a time. Put on some good music, pour yourself a glass of wine, and scrape away. The job will be over before you know it. Best of luck to you.

I have one in my kitchen that I'm going to remove. After it's cleaned off, I'd love to have a tin ceiling, but it's not in the budget. So, I'm going to use Anagalypta wall paper with a squares pattern and glue it up to the ceiling and paint it. Good luck with yours!

Get in the professionals as it could be asbestos! Best bet is to seal it or overboard it........
