I used cork plugs and painted the whole porch. They don't like the painted wood.

Had a friend that finally just had to cover all his wooden overhang with aluminum by bending and molding over then nailing. As of right now it seems to have worked. His was a cabin!

They lay their eggs inside the holes and that’s why they come back it’s the new ones that are being born. The best thing you can do stuff the holes if you can reach them stu with steel wool take an old Brillo they can’t get out and they can’t be born and it stops . The steel wool is too tough for them to drill through .

I read somewhere to use WD-40 Spray in the holes. You will have to get the bottles with the hose thing to get inside the burrow and not it’s around the opening

Get a Paper lantern they will think it is another hive and leave the area. Also, bees do not like moving air. Get a fan going. They like wet and desiccated wood. Clean up the area for junk. You need to clean out the ceiling where they are hibernating and eradicate the scent. Avoid plants which may be attracting bees. Cedar is a good one.

We had problems with the carpenter bees. Ugg! I stuffed a brown paper bags with plastic bags and hung them from the wood beams in our shed, I used fishing line for hanging them. We were told that the bees 🐝 would think the brown bag was a hornets nest and leave. It worked!!!! The bees left!

I used hornet spray in the holes. and as others have said, just paint the wood

My sister sprayed WD 40 in the holes and all around the site. Got rid of ALL of the bees! Worked great for her.
