what is the best way to remove moss from a shed's shingled roof? It sits under a neighbor's large tree.

you can cut off the branches that overhang your roof. be sure to tell the neighbor you are having it done.
The shed has acquired moss accumulation due to not receiving enough sunlight to keep the shingles dry. This is probably caused by the branches being too thick/too large/too close to the shingles.
Even though the tree originates in your neighbour's yard, you are free to cut off any branches that overhang across into your property. You are not required to ask permission of your neighbour or inform them.
