How to add a Peep hole viewer for garage door?

I would like to put a small viewer thru my garage door. I want to know that no one is outside when door is opened. Is one better than another. Will they take the constant vibration of hitting the floor when door closing? What is best place to put it, in center or to the right? Thru the edge of the panels?

Measure the depth of the door and buy a viewer to accommodate the depth. I have only seen them in the center but think you can put it anywhere as long as it’s not too close to the edge of the door where the inside structure is. Viewers will have instructions.

We have the Arlo cameras, but for some, the peephole is a much cheaper and still safer choice! One may not always have access to turning their camera(s) on quickly enough, or if it's a child, elderly, and/or handicapped person, the peephole is a quick fix to see if someone is beyond the door. AND, if the cameras are off line (per the website), the peephole will ALWAYS work! Good luck and Stay Safe!
