How to cover and protect painted wood from outdoor conditions?

Over the winter I decided to paint some wooden pallet boards for something to do. Now that there finished I’d like to put them outside on the back fence but not sure what I can apply to them to keep them sealed from the weather. I’d hate to see them look all faded from the sun and rain. What’s the best product to use to cover and seal them?

This mural has been in our yard many years. The ship part since 2011 and the other part maybe almost 20 years. Acrylic paint. No poly or other coating. We live in Maine.

Your's are playful and colorful and will be o.k. esp if you can bring them inside in the winter. BTW. I did not do our mural, my husband is an artist.

If they are smallish you can use outdoor epoxy to protect them

These are beautiful, A outdoor matte finish or clear coat would work great. Polyurethane is another option if you want a shiny finish.
