Is it possible to just add a glaze to existing oak cabinets?

Rather than repainting my oak cabinets, I was wanting to know if I could just add some type of glaze that would darken the overall cospecially highlighting the raised (or lower) areas.

You would definitely have to rough sand first, wipe with mineral spirits for glaze to stick

You can stain over stain with gel stain. You can go darker but not lighter.
