Pull as much paper off as you can get off. Sand well so you cannot feel where the paper stops. Repair and sand any nicks or scratches. Wipe down with mile soapy water. These can be painted with Chalk Paint, (do several light coats for good coverage). Also, I like Annie Sloan paint. A little pricey but it goes a long way! They will need to be sealed with a good, durable sealer. I like Polycrylic. This is a water-based polyurethane but it will not "yellow" over time as oil-based poly will do. Will need several coats as these will be used heavily. Take your time and you should have a beautiful kitchen when finished!

Thank you. It's good, sadly it doesn't address paper which is on some of the sides of the cabinets.

Thank you. I don't think the paper is peelable and is primarily on the sides of the outer cabinets. I have never used chalk paint so if and when I can do this I will look forward to better looking cabinets. Or ... just try to sell the house as is. There's nothing wrong with the cabinets, but they are part wood and covered wood. I htought a white kitchen would sell better.

You're more than welcome! I hope that helps! If you decide to use chalk paint, you will love it! For your second coat, ever so slightly dip your brush into water then into your paint. It will spread super easy. It will also help to prevent brush strokes. I hope your project goes well. I am a Certified Home stager and helped a guy re-hab a mobile home. We painted all of the cabinetry including the bathroom It turned out great!

I need you. I am needing to get out of this place. The house is adorable, but the park it's in is run by the spawn of hell. I can't do this myself as I spend all my time on my web site, and I have had 8 different handymen show up, give quotes for what I needed done and only one came back. He didnt even do what we agreed to do. But thanks to you I at least know what to do.

I also have to fixe the back splace on the counter. It's a very warped 4 in board of formica. I guess peel and stick ...
