Sounds like you may need to replace especially if it cant be used.
Oh dear it does sound like you'll probably need to replace it. Is it a wooden door?
I would replace it and then turn it into a table top, paint it and make it a wall piece or use it to hang pictures on, make it a work bench, etc.
Try looking for a replacement door at a Habitat for Humanity restore. Take your exact measurements of your old door. Turn the old door into a table top, or paint and lean to hold a shelf and photos. Attached a large mirror to the old door and lean. Add additional trims and molding to the old door, then paint everything one color. Best of luck.
