Small Red Rose Bush

Julie Rainwater
by Julie Rainwater
Trimming my rose bushes is a job, but very rewarding. When I trim my roses, I pick some of the best trimmings and put them in a pot of good potting soil. I usually pot around 15 to 20 of them and I am usually lucky to have one or two of them to take root. This is one that I started last summer.

I read on here somewhere that you could put a clipping in a potato, then plant it and it would grow. Might be worth a try with one of your clippings.

@Cathy Murphy I have never heard that. Thank you for sharing that with me. I will have to try that.

@Cathy Murphy It will take about 4 to 6 weeks before I know if it works, but, I will let you know. Thanks again for sharing the idea with me.
