I need Shade over my patio and I don’t have a lot of money

Could you please come up with some great ideas how to create shade cover over my patio without spending a lot of money side patio off of the side of my home and I would like to be able to sit out there and enjoy the evenings in the garden space that’s over there but it’s too hot even with the Summersun help creating shade

Hi Darlene there are two options that came to my mind. One is using pellets to create a pergola of sorts (I'm adding pics below of some cool ones I found on google image search) and you could consider creating a "roof" with fabric. just installed a 10X10 solar shade from Sam's club $35 and top fencing posts from home depot $30.
See if you can find a free standing metal pergola... I have seen them at Walmart, and Target.. for under $300 some for as low as $110 depending on size... or look at Harbor Freight to find a shade structure... when the canvas or tarp cover goes away... we replace the cover with Shade Cloth... 60 inches wide, comes in tan, black, green, or brown... sold by the foot, Home Depot or Lowe's in the garden department... it allows the breeze to flow thru and you can double it up for a deeper shade. AND it last for YEARS... we had some that was over 10 years old, and still in good shape... and... we live in Phoenix, AZ.
grapevine is a great shade producer.
Some people use a canvas awning, some use fiberglass roof over wood frame. Either of these are very inexpensive compared to plywood and shingles
How about sun shades. Not only do they provide shade they look great.
