Pung61 is correct about keeping your attic cooler. You may have insulation between your attic and the rooms below, but builders often put the AC air handler in the attic. It will work much more efficiently in a cooler attic. Plus, you may decide to change the color of your home when it's time to repaint, whereas your roof color is going to stay the same for decades, perhaps the rest of your life. Here is a link to a site where you can look at various roof colors. https://www.englertinc.com/metal-roof-color-visualizer.html I prefer the grays first, but I also like Everglade Moss, Hemlock Green, and Slate Blue. I think the white colors would be too stark, and the beige colors might not work with your current gray siding. It depends on whether your gray siding is a warm gray or a cool gray.

I would put a light gray ... will reflect the sun.

But if you want a more every efficient roof, you could do light gray. I just read that black roofs could make a house hot: http://greenhomeguide.com/know-how/article/three-ways-to-make-your-roof-more-energy-efficient

I have a metal roof and live in Florida. On the bottom half of my ranch house is brick that is rust/black and buttery cream multi colored and the body of the house is a medium olive green color and the trim picks up the buttery cream color of the brick. I chose to go with a rust colored metal roof which picks up the bricks and is a nice contrast against the olive green paint on the body of the house. I went with the rust because of the bricks. Although the paint color may change the bricks will always remain the same. It looks very attractive and warm/inviting. Plus I don't have to pressure wash my metal roof like my neighbors who have ceramic tile roofs due to the algae/mold that grows in the Florida heat. Unlike metal ceramic tiles are porous and the mold sticks to it. Love my metal roof.

Have you given any thought to either light gray or white for the roof (lighter colors reflect the heat from the sun better then darker ones) and maybe changing the shutter color to the same as the roof or maybe a gray in between the house and roof colors.
