My yard is mostly porous and top soil eventually seeps into the ground. Grass will only grow for a while then it starts to die in spots then all over.

Maybe it's the wrong kind of grass for your area. Find out from your local agricultural department or the local nursery what's best. Good luck.

Go to your County Agricultural Extension Service office. Ask for a soil test kit. They can help you better than anyone to know what your soil needs.

    Hi Lahelaj,

The best thing to is to start a compost bin and begin creating organic material to put into the ground. You can rent or maybe you have a roller that punches holes in the ground. Either way you can then start putting the organic material onto your ground so that some will go into the holes. It might take a few years for this have enough time to make it work. Just keep doing it so that your dirt will improve. Eventually it will help. Wishing you the best.

Artificial grass every time in this situation........Otherwise you will need to completely re-build your land to make it compateble for grass.
