A chance to get creative with a cabinet door.

Here are the steps on making your own chalkboard using a cabinet door! I was given a cabinet door from a cabinet maker for review purposes but I've also gone to the Habitat store and gotten cabinet doors very inexpensive for other projects before. I started by wiping down the blank cabinet door and applying some primer to the outside frame since this one was unfinished. Next was the three different color of paints I used for the accent areas (I picked these colors because of the colors on the knobs that were my inspiration). I applied two coats of each color.

These are the cute knobs that were my inspiration for the colorful theme!

Once dry, I taped the freshly painted area so that I could paint the middle section with the chalkboard paint. I headed to my Cricut to cut out the vinyl decal I designed.

I applied some antiquing around the frame section to give it a vintage feel before drilling holes for the knobs…

I also screwed on this cute drawer pull to use as a chalk holder.

Final look!
