Carve a Watermelon to personalize a Party...
Items needed... Fruits, Clean your Seedless Grapes, Strawberries, Blueberries, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Fresh or canned Pineapple. I use Pineapple Tidbits in Heavy Syrup. I pour the syrup in with the fruits to combine all juices. Carving tools, sharp knife, Melon ball tool.
After choosing a ripe watermelon. I Pick one that sits well. Meaning; Has a flat side that sits still. So I can work with it & it will sit straight to use later, as a bowl. I draw out my 2018 with a sharpie. This is the time to imagine how you want your finished project to look.
If you connect your numbers or word, just right, you should be able to cut it so there is a TOP, that you can reattach later.
Discard your seeds, Scoop out your melon balls. Save your unused melon for dessert. Yummy!
Carefully clean out the cavity of your melon. Drain & pat dry...
Fill with fresh fruits, I pour my Pineapple Syrup in at this time. You can add fruits of your choice.
Place the top back on & refrigerate over night.
Such a pretty centerpiece to any Summer Gathering. This graduate LOVED it!
