How can I build a simple potting bench for outdoors?

I injured my leg and have to wear a hinged brace on one leg so bending down to the ground is hard to impossible. How can I build a small potting bench or repurpose some type of furniture? I want it functional but cute for the backyard. Thank you, Vicki

Vickie, I know how certain things must be difficult for you. I'm sending you several videos. Each of them shows how to make a potting bench out of something different and different styles. Maybe it will give you ideas of something that isn't too tough for you to manage.

pinterest.com should have some ideas for you.... then find the elements that will make it work for you.... it could be as simple as a thrift store desk, dresser, table etc....you could use cement board/hardy backer on the top.. then tile... we have found that metal file drawers work okay for holding small gardening tools, PVC pipe connectors, hose washers, etc.... but we live in AZ so moisture/rust is not so much of a problem here (we set them up on concrete paving blocks out of the dirt)

I think I have an old file cabinet in the garage. Maybe I can find another one and place a board on top to make like a table. Great idea to store tools in the drawers. Thank you!

I noticed a structure that was (I thought) a great potting bench in a pile of wood debris at our town transfer station. It was a simple long open five sided box. But it had decorative feet on it, maybe about 4 or 5 inches high. They evidently were pieces sold in a place like Home Depot, They wouldn't have raised the box up too too high but you could sit on a stool or such nearby to work on it. Problem with my find, was that one side was so badly chewed up that it wouldn't be worth taking, but it was a good idea!
