Greenhouse: What type of plastic and what thickness?

Hello. I want to convert an old gazebo frame into a greenhouse. What type of plastic and what thickness will withstand heat and cold of Colorado?

I recommend the transparent roofing panels that they sell at lowes and home depot.

This site has a list of different types of greenhouse coverings and their R factor. You can see that poly or plastic is rated the lowest.

Transparent polycarbonate panels are more durable and wind-resistant than plastic sheeting, no matter how thick. Plastic also succumbs to UV rays. However, you could attach plastic to the inside of the gazebo frame to increase the R-factor and minimize drafts. During the winter the floor will be cooler than the upper half even if you have a heater, which is a good idea anyway. In the spring having a window opposite and higher than the door will keep your greenhouse from getting too warm. There are temperature reactive window openers that run between $25 and $35.
