Morning glory vine question

by Penne Johnson
Hi everyone. Me again. LOL I have a perennial morning glory vine that I got
last summer. It is growing like crazy, BUT very long travelers with no leaves.
I have a couple blossoms, What is the problem. Does it need something? Do I need to cut it all the way down and let it start to regrow? There are two of them
and they are young plants. Thanks for any ideas. Penne Aslo the leaves seem
to turn yellow and dry up. I was told not to use the Barons crystals as they are
too strong of food for them.

For more blooms you might want to nip back the runners so that the energy goes into the leaves and blooms.

Yeh Lina thats what I was afraid of. I have runners all over the place. as long as 6ft. But not many leaves. My guess was to cut them all the way back and basically start over. Thanks for responding.

Hi Penne, Yes, cut those runners down. Cutting them back will give the Morning Glory more strength to grow bushy and full with more blossoms. Then make a solution of one tablespoon Epson Salt dissolved in a gallon of water. Pour it on the soil at the base of both Morning Glory's. Then give them extra water. The extra water will help the roots receive the E Salt. This process will put enzymes into the soil and plants flourish with it. You can repeat every two weeks. Best of luck to you and your Morning Glory's.

Thanks loads, I will do that today. I love these plants. I have two buds way on the top and one flower that is huge and beautiful, so want more of them. Can I use that solution on my lavender color morning glory bush. I understand it is the same family. Leaves are yellowing in places and the flowers have a very delicate lacey appearance now instead of the full flower. Pretty, but thinking its not right. Thanks loads.

Hi Penne, Yes, go ahead a put that solution on your lavender Morning Glory too. You can use it on all your plants. I use it in my vegetable garden. Good luck.

Thanks so much. So appreciate your advise. I already cut down all those

long runners, and need to go get the epson saltz today and will do that as well. Will let you know how it works. Glad to know it is safe for all plants. Don't know about my pulmerias tho.
