  • Add bicarb and vinegar and use a toothbrush to scrub them out. I have also used compressed air in a can, but this can be a bit messy.

First of all, place some towels along the side next to flooring/carpet that needs protection from moisture. Then...

...wipe down the inside of the slider track with a damp rag(s).

    ...brush out any crumbs, debris.

...Spray with 409 and gently scrub with a small brush, wiping out as you go.

...PATIENCE! You do not want to create a lot of splash.

I have found that small places where dirt wants to reside and hide, round toothpicks are an excellent tool!!! (This is a great trick for getting around the edging of the stove, sink and faucets!)

Keep in mind that this can be "clean" and still look scruffy. It will never look polished.

I usually take 409 and spray in the tracks then I use a vinyl brush the size of a toothbrush and get the dirt out. It works very well for me

Once you have the track clean, block off the track with weighted down drop cloths or tape just outside the track. Don’t forget the walls! And the glass! Then spray paint the clean track with Rustoleum silver or glossy silver. Let it dry. At the intersection of the track and the other window, door, or wall, put a few drops of WD40 so the track will slide easier. Remove the drop cloths and you have a door with clean shoes. Enjoy! ☺️
