I used wallpaper that resembles faux tin tiles (you can see it in my Hometalk profile) It was inexpensive and looks great!
Old farmhouse look...shiplap or beadboard.
Decorative ceiling squares from tin to copper to the plastic ones you can paint.
My friend painted her room a dusty very light (almost white) rose color, put up a second row of molding below her cove molding and then one above it out onto the ceiling, all molding white (very majestic). She painted the first 20" of the ceiling the same color of her room, put up another white small molding and painted the center white! It was stunning!!!
