Another thing you might try first, is something most of us have - white toothpaste. I used it to improve the glass on my headlights of my old car. I rubbed it in, and then polished the glass with a microfiber cloths. It improved the fine scratches and smoothed out the finish.

I've heard that you can use compound, the stuff for cleaning cars. I've never used it for that and I'm not sure how it works, but it's worth a try.
I also heard about alcohol not the 70 the 90 percent .we used it at work .. don't hurt to try it .Good luck .
