    What plants are turning white

What kind of soil did you use ??? You're probably locking out most of the nutrients. The pH of the soil used for growing plants can have serious effects on the health and growth of the plant. Lower the pH and see what happens.

It could be iron deficiency. Normally iron deficiency appears as yellowing in new leaves with the veins remaining green. As the deficiency worsens older leaves also begin yellowing. However, sometimes the deficiency happens so quickly that the leaves turn from greenish-yellow to white almost overnight. The quickest fix is a liquid iron chelate which can be applied as a spray to the leaves, and/or as a drench to the soil.

The condition is known as iron chlorosis and can be caused by:

    ● too high a pH - Even though your potting soil may be acidic, your water could be full of calcium and that could over time raise the pH.

    ● too wet soil - Not usually found in potted plants, but too wet soil prevents oxygen from getting to the roots and inhibits uptake of nutrients.

    ● too heavy clay soil - Add composted organic matter. Turn compost into the soil at the edge of the root zone, and add compost over the root zone. Whenever you dig a new flowerbed or redo a flower bed turn in several inches of compost.

    ● too much phosphorus - Avoid high number fertilizers, especially the middle number. Avoid super bloom fertilizer.
