Chalkboard Pocket Door

I had an old pocket door separating my kitchen from the utility room. I usually keep it closed when washing or drying clothes to reduce the noise. I started using sticky notes on the door to remind me of things that I need to do before I leave the house.
Then I thought of a better idea. I went to Lowes and purchased a quart of Valspar Chalkboard paint and painted it. A few coats later it was done.
Now armed with chalk I have a "reminder door" to remind me !

Here is the before picture with a note taped to the door. I knew there was a better way to achieve my goal. I sanded the door to remove rough spots, then began painting a light coat and let it dry overnight.
This is the finished picture of the chalkboard pocket door with a few notes already for me!

Simple, cheap and very effective!
A few more coats and it was done and ready for use! All total it took about 3 coats. One quart of Valspar Black Chalkboard Paint was plenty for the job. I even have some leftover for other projects that I have already search in Hometalk
Here is a picture after I have already started jotting down a few reminders.
Finally, here is a picture of the door when it is partly tucked away.
