Veggie Gardening Made Easy

I've had a vegetable garden for several years, with not much luck. I'm not the best at weeding (I don't weed enough), and critters (rabbits and groundhogs) are always always eating my vegetables! I decided to trade in my backyard garden plot for a raised planter instead, and couldn't be happier!
I started out with the Sequoia Planter by Keter. (Keter provided me with the planter in exchange for my review -- I estimate that it costs about $200, but I'm not sure.) This durable wood-look planter was fairly simple to put together. All I needed was a screwdriver, and I had it assembled in less than an hour.
Once my planter was assembled, all there was left to do was add some dirt, herbs and vegetable plants. I simply filled the planter with potting soil that's sold for container gardening. I then added a few plants that I picked up at my local Walmart store one day while grocery shopping. I got some tomato plants, a cilantro seedling, a rosemary plant and some basil.
My family recently adopted a puppy, and it can be hard to get stuff done while keeping an eye on him. This project was so easy that I was able to get my new patio garden together and watch puppy!

It's been about a week since I put my new patio garden together, and I am happy to report that no critters (rabbits, etc.) have tampered with my herbs and vegetables yet! I haven't needed to do any weeding, either.
Now that I have my new planter, I am looking for ideas on what to do with my old raised garden plot! Perhaps I will put flowers in my old garden plot instead!
