Put down cayenne pepper
For the ants-any kind of ants-sprinkle Jiffy Cornbread mix where they are marching (do not bake it-just pour from the package). What you can do too is buy a product called Terro-available at Walmart, DIY stores. That stops the ants too and they love both of these products. Just apply the Terro to the cardboards provided and they will be all over it, it may take repeat applications of the Terro.
