How to clean a Toilet?

All her toilet except for one in the guest room are clean. However, the toilet in the guest room our guest bathroom is Scott yellow staining on the bottom that you can get off if you can reach it but it's right where the water goes dowN. Could this be related to the fact that our semi permanent guest did not ask their children to flush the toilet after they urinate?

Yup. Pour in a 1/2 cup of bleach and let it sit for a bit.

    Over-zealous water conservators.

My sister and her husband hand a cabin in a remote area. Their water source was several rain barrels on the roof. Consequently they had a bathroom rule...."If it's yellow, Let it mellow....If it's brown, Flush it down. She never had problems with stains. Have you tried draining your toilet, filling the tank and bowl with white vinegar and let it sit overnight. Stains should be gone by morning.

We have staining in our guest bathroom toilet as well. It is due to rust in the water and the fact that we hardly ever use the toilet. It doesn’t get flushed often and the water starts evaporating from the bowl concentrating the iron. I try to remember to flush it once in a while.

Ooh, and insist they shut the lid to flush! Try coloring the toilet water a dark color - whatever food coloring you have in the cabinet. Then cover the toilet seat with paper towels and ask your guests to watch while they flush. They will see an amazing amount of drips hit the paper. Imagine urine splashing out like that on toothbrushes, combs, cups, whatever is on the open surfaces. Then go to the decorating store and get one of those "A Good Guest..." plackets to hang in an obvious spot. Inconsiderate guests are a real pet peeve of mine. Set up some strong house rules if they're going to be around awhile and set a definite "stayed too long" date.

If bleach doesnt remove, try scrubbing with a scouring stick. It doesnt damage the finish but will remove hard deposits whatever their source. I have seen at Dollar tree, Walmart, Home depot. Link attached. Good luck

I would use Borax in the toilet bowl and let it sit for 15-30 minutes before brushing and flushing. Borax can be found in the laundry detergent isle, it is a great cleaning product that has been around before my time and I use it for many cleaning things and it will freshen the toilet. If the stain is still there after trying Borax buy some Denture cleaning tablets and add a couple into the toilet and let set for 15 mins before brushing and flushing. I also use Denture cleaning tablets to clean the Vases you cannot get your hands into and it scrubs the inside with hot water and 1 tablet let it set for 15 mins rinse and your Vase is clean.

Flush the toilet and then pour a quarter cup of Borax into it. Use your toilet brush to swish it around. Next, add one to two cups of vinegar and let the mixture sit for 30 minutes. You should be able to scrub the stains away!
