The Fourth July is one of my favorite holidays! I love the warm summer days, barbecues, parties and the amazing fireworks that celebrate our freedom. While the Fourth of July may not be a holiday that some people decorate for, I’ve found that there are some easy and cheap ways to make your holiday party more festive.

All of these projects are very low-cost and easy to do an afternoon. If you have some mason jars and paint lying around, they may even be free!

Easy Fourth of July Project One: Fourth of July Mason Jars

These cute mason jars can be used to hold Fourth of July treats or even fireworks. Your imagination is the limit! All you need to create these awesome centerpieces are some mason jars, paint and some chalkboard labels.

Start by painting your jars. If you have three jars, paint one red, one white and one blue. I used acrylic paint and a paintbrush because that’s what I had lying around the house. Spray paint will work as well.

It also is a good idea to use different sized jars to get a unique look.

Since I was using acrylic paint, I added a second coat to make it more opaque.

Once your paint is dry, wrap the rims of the jar in red white and blue ribbon or some neutral twine.

To add a finishing touch, you can get clip on chalkboard signs to label what you want to put inside. They also make vinyl chalkboard stickers that you could stick on the sides.

Label your mason jars with whatever festivities you want to put inside, and you are done.

Easy and Cheap Fourth of July Project Two: Fourth of July Flower Pots

Here is another easy Fourth of July decoration that I did with items lying around my house. The pots for this project were originally from IKEA but I know they sell similar ones at the dollar store. The Fourth of July ribbon is also from the dollar store.

All you need to create your own fourth July flower buckets are pots and ribbon. (And some glue.)

Measure the upper rim of the flower pot with ribbon so it’ll go all the way around and then cut the ribbon.

Glue the ribbon around the upper rim of the pot.

If you are using wide ribbon like me, you may need to pinch the lower half of the ribbon and fold it over so that it sets flush against the pot.

Add some festive Fourth of July flowers and you have another Fourth of July decoration that costs next to nothing.

Easy Fourth of July Project Three: How to Paint Easy Fireworks

I did this project with my kids on T-shirts. You can paint these fireworks on just about anything.

To paint an easy firework, all you need is red, white and blue paint, as well as a disposable fork.

Dip your fork in whatever color paint you want your firework to be.

Place your fork on the surface that you want the firework to be on and push down. Repeat this going around in a circle and you have an instant firework design.

You could use this as a fun kids project or you could paint fireworks on just about anything to make your party stand out above the rest!
