Use seat as pattern, I'd get stretchy fabric going to have to wash it a lot if use fabric, what about liners used on kitchen shelf? Contact paper? Not sure I'd want to cover because of hygeine?????

Please don’t cover it! The thought of sitting on covered toilet seat grosses me out due to the hygiene aspect. My MIL had a covered seat on their toilet and all I could think of each time I had to use it was all the drips, etc. that were on it!

Do you mean a cover like a toilet seat lid?

Yes; I cannot find anything in a store or online so I need to create my own remedy. Will appreciate your ideas. Thanks.

It is molded hard plastic for a reason, it does not need to be covered, it needs continual cleaning during hours of use

    and is indeed high maintenance.

Best you could do is drape a towel or a cloth over it.

Also if you choose to cover it, the person using it might slip, creating a dangerous set up for an accident.

Can you buy a regular toilet seat lid and attach the hinges to the back of the seat? Or cut a card board box so it will fit over the seat. Cover the box with fabric or wrapping paper. My Mom had one of these and a lid would have been nice.

Then the fabric idea would work if you can sew? Just take piece of fabric large enough to go completely over it and sew elastic to bottom to hold it on kind of like the old toilet seat covers of 70s!😁 if only used occasionally can find big fabric bag to slide it in
