Advice for painting a room?
I want to change the color scheme of the room by pain however I do not have the Physical Stamina to rip out the Paneling on the wall and behind the shelving around the Fireplace, would just painting the room with White Paint and trim with a Soft Grey be the easiest?

yes, clean, prime the paneling ,allow to dry and paint
I think that would be very pretty - really will brighten-up the room! Here's a link about painting paneling:

Hi Lawrence. I have painted paneling and it turned out great! I would do just that. I like the colors you have chosen as well. I would maybe paint the inside of the built in a slightly darker gray than the outside to give them more dimension. Good Luck! Also another recommendation is to use a oil base primer on the paneling. It worked way better and covered well for me than the latex did.
I would keep the trim white. And paint all of the walls, including the paneling. You have a grey rug, so I wouldn't put grey on the walls. A soft, light green, aqua would look nice and will lighten it up.
Yes you can do this. Clean your surfaces well, sand if rough areas, prime and then paint. I believe you will be very happy!
Absolutely, I did this in my kitchen. Trimmed it up to look like bead board. Much easier than ripping it out and replacing.
I have painted paneling before, it turns out great. The colors you are thinking sound nice.
Your shelving is beautiful! Can you fill it with art, books, and other beautiful things?
Even with the grey carpet I would go with a nice medium gray on the walls with white trim (already there) and a white brick fireplace. I would leave the wood mantel but maybe darken the stain. PRIME those walls and cabinets. Paint is an amazing way to update a home on a budget! You could even bring in a pop of color on the cabinet backs using paint or wallpaper. If budget allows I would put up two matching fans with lights if needed. Have fun!
