My husband drove over freshly painted white road lines and we can't seem to get it off the side of his truck where the tires splattered the paint up onto the body of his truck. It is stuck pretty good!
Welcome any ideas on how to get it off!icon

First call your insurance company they may have some referrals for a auto detailing company to help you out....

Next... give a call to the City Roads and transportation company... they should be able to put you in contact with the company that did the center line stripe painting.... get the name of the paint manufacturer...the composition of the paint and find out what can be used to remove the paint

Information is the key.. and a little research could save the paint job on the truck.

They actually make cleaners for that - you should try the auto store.

If it has not been on there long, try Armor All that you use for your tire shine, leather seat shine, etc.

Try vegetable oil or baby oil. Rub it on and wipe off. If this doesn't work, go to the auto parts store and ask for their advice. They make compounds to remove tar, so paint should be a piece of cake to remove!

And believe it or not....WD40! Will not hurt the paint and is used by professionals for bug and tar removal. Use only on a dry surface, wipe with a clean rag, use lots of clean rags, discard when dirty, but let them dry before placing in a trashcan or they might catch themselves on fire.

Go to your auto parts store. They have special cleaners for hard to get off materials. I rented a car once and it was lightly scratched while parked. I used supplies to fix it and returned it without incident.
