How do I dye ikea sofa covers

I have white covers and children... I want them to be grey but they are too big for the washing machine, and throws look messy. How can I change the colour?

. ive used rit dye for several projects. How light or dark the color is depends on how long the cloth is in the dye bath. You may need to see what is suggested to set the dye. For the curtians I dyed them in the bath tub. Used a color remover after To clean the tub. You can do a tie dye patterns as well, or brush it on.
