How to organize my sewing room?

a square table in the center of the Room is great if you have the room. Choose a height that makes it easy for you to lay out and cut your fabric. A lot of storage can be done beneath the table by using bookcases, crates, etc. so the space is not wasted. Then lots of shelving, maybe all the way to the ceiling for organizing your books and various supplies. Maybe bins with fabric under the table. Hooks can be placed on a couple of sides of the tabletop to hang scissors, rulers, and mats after drilling holes in them so they can hang. Once you get started, you'll think of more ideas to make your room to function well for you. Maybe an ironing board on a special hangar on the back of the door.

If you have the wall space for peg boards they can hold a variety of things to keep them visible and handy. Dollar tree carries a variety of bin sizes that can be hung or used as drawers to hold a lot of stuff. Some ideas attached on a link. Good luck

It sounds like you need good storage options. You can get a few good ideas from the dollar store. Clear shoe boxes with lids, laundry baskets, wicker baskets and even small boxes with lids, tupper ware bowls with lids for small items. I agree that peg board and hooks will work good for you too. I just reorganized my sewing/craft room. IKEA has some great storage ideas. I bought a unit that holds 16 bins. You can buy fabric bins from them, or make your own from used cardboard boxes. I had baskets and bins that fit nicely into the 13" x 13" openings. I used some openings to store plastic shoe boxes for some items (rulers, cutters, etc) and the bins held kits, zippers, seam binding, and other notions. I made labels for each bin and/or box from used file folders. One folder made most of the labels. I had a hope chest to store larger amounts of fabric, but you can also hang the fabric on hangers like slacks or skirts. Smaller pieces of fabric fit nicely hung over a Pendaflex hanging file folder, so I emptied a drawer from my file cabinet and used it to hang tons of fabric. When you open the drawer, you see beautiful colors instead of file tabs. It looks great. I also used heavy glass jars or glasses I got from thrift store to hold sewing tools like small scissors, marking pens, seam rippers, etc. Makes them easy to find and the heavy glass doesn't tip over like some cans or plastic cups do. It took a lot of time to organize all my treasures, but it was worth it. Now I truly enjoy my time crafting/sewing and it takes less time to complete projects because I don't have to look all over for things. Good luck.!

I bought a large shelf with doors that sits on the floor. it has shelves inside. i bought several plastic shoe boxes and labeled them. Hope this helps.
