I have these cut up branches of Cedar that fell in our woods and I‘m cleaning them and sanding them. My question is can I leave them raw, or should I put a clear finish on them? Or does it even matter? Will they attract bugs if I don‘t poly them? Thanks so much for your answer.
We have cedar logs on the wood pile and in an outdoor environment they can and do attract bugs.
For indoor projects -I have had drilled out cedar and birch logs such as these left natural - used for candlestick bases-or pencil holders -no problems noted. The natural acrually would look more natural than sealed.
I have seen where thinner wood slices are used to make a tabletop and they are sealed into place.
